Being part of the larger, global community means reaching out to people in need in other countries, people we may never even meet. Such is the situation in Africa which is being devastated by the HIV/AIDs pandemic.
Traditionally, Africa has a very unique way of caring for its orphans, widows, and seniors. That structure is the extended family of older sisters and brothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins. There are no government programs to help as in the case here in Canada. However with the HIV/AIDs crisis, life expectancy has dropped leaving behind a generation of children to grow up on their own.
Action Africa is a program of West Edge to raise funds to provide humanitarian assistance to children orphaned by HIV/AIDs.
